Dell's Inspiron Chromebook 14 2-in-1 is a convertible laptop that costs $599 and has support for Android apps. With a built-in pen and a 14-inch 1080p display, it's a pretty cool device.

Announced at IFA this year, Dell's Inspiron Chromebook 14 2-in-1 seems to do it all. Aside from running Chrome OS and the plethora of web apps that come with it, it's also a convertible with support for Android apps. That means that it can be your tablet too.

Dell sent me one to review, and I'm pretty excited to spend some time with it. The PC has a built-in pen, so it's going to be useful for things like taking handwritten notes.

My biggest pain point with Windows 10 convertibles is that Windows is terrible at being a tablet OS. I'm interested to see how well Android app support can do on this end, and if Chrome OS can meet the needs on the laptop side to get to that balance of being a proper convertible, something that can actually do both and do them well.

The Inspiron Chromebook 14 2-in-1 also comes with an Intel Core i3, 4GB RAM, and 128GB of onboard storage. It has a 14-inch 1080p display, and it seems to mark the right boxes for a $599 convertible.
