Android 7.0 Nougat starts rolling out to Sony Xperia X and Xperia X Compact

Last month, Sony began rolling out its Android 7.0 Nougat upgrade, starting with the Xperia X Performance. Now, the company is starting to bring the update to more of its devices.

As Xperia Blog reports, Android 7.0 has begun to make its way to the Xperia X (model number F5121), Xperia X Dual (F5122), and Xperia X Compact (F5321). The update bumps up the build number for those devices to version 34.2.A.0.266.

The new firmware is already available for the trio of handsets in multiple markets, including Australia, Russia, Turkey, Thailand and Vietnam, and parts of Latin America and the Middle East.

However, bear in mind that major updates such as this one tend to progress in 'waves', reaching a small percentage of devices at first. This gives manufacturers like Sony time to monitor any potential issues with the rollout, before expanding it to all eligible devices, and to more markets.
