Chuwi finds inspiration from Apple's MacBook Air, produces its own copy with LapBook Air

Chuwi isn't a name that you'll see at your local Best Buy, but they have a tremendous presence online from third-party sites offering affordable PCs, laptops, and tablets. When we last checked in with the company, they were just starting their campaign for their Surface Pro 4 clone, the SurBook. Now it appears that the firm is setting its sights on Apple with the introduction of the LapBook Air.

According to Chuwi, this is the most svelte laptop they have produced to date, measuring in at 6mm at its thinnest point. The laptop will have a 14.1-inch 1080p display, two USB 3.0 ports, along with a 3.5mm headphone jack. It will be constructed of metal and will weigh in at only 1.3kg or around 2.86lbs. You can tell from the styling and its illuminated rear logo that the firm isn't abashed that they have taken inspiration from the MacBook Air.

As of now, the firm has stopped short of stating what the internal specifications will be for the LapBook Air, when it will launch, or anticipated pricing for the device.
