Dishonored: Death of the Outsider announced, coming this September

At its E3 showcase today, Bethesda made numerous announcements, including The Evil Within 2, Quake Champions, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for the Nintendo Switch, and a new Wolfenstein game. It also showed off a new DLC Dishonored story, touting it as a standalone adventure.

The upcoming title has been dubbed Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, and you can check it out below:

Those familiar with the characters in the Dishonored universe will notice a couple of returning characters, including Billie Lurk and Daud. The trailer shows Billie Lurk rescuing Daud using her supernatural abilities, eviscerating everything in her path. The two seem to join hands in a quest to kill the Outsider, the supernatural being responsible for their and Corvo's abilities.

A description of the game can be seen below:

The notorious Billie Lurk makes her return in Dishonored: Death of the Outsider. Reuniting with her mentor – the legendary assassin Daud – Billie will explore the dark underbelly of Karnaca in order to pull off the ultimate assassination: kill the Outsider.

From the award-winning developers at Arkane Studios, Dishonored: Death of the Outsider is the first standalone adventure in the critically acclaimed Dishonored series.

Bethesda promises the same freedom to players that it has become a hallmark of its Dishonored franchise. Gamers will be able to utilize numerous weapons and abilities to complete missions according to their liking.

Seeing that this is a standalone adventure, gamers won't need to own Dishonored 2 in order to play it. Dishonored: Death of the Outsider is slated for a release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 15, 2017.
