French hardware site Clubic is reporting that the a faulty resistor has been found on the 8800GTX model making the card unstable at high load and may cause image corruption (or tearing).
nVIDIA has said that the problem is minor and needs only to replace the faulty resistor.
VR-Zone have posted updates throughout the day and have said:
- No affect on launch date as yet
- NVIDIA will handle the necessary hardware changes (changing of resistors)
- Only some 8800GTX cards are affected due to wrong resistor value by a contract manufacturer but to be safe, all the card makers are recalling their cards
