Google Pixel 4a unboxing and first impressions

Just a few days, Google announced the Pixel 4a after months of delays. It was originally supposed to be shown off at Google's I/O developer conference, just like the Pixel 3a was in 2019. I/O ended up being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so Google held off on launching the Pixel 4a for a while.

The budget Pixel comes in at $349, and it's all about bringing those flagship features down to a lower price point. It has the same 12MP single-lens camera that Google has been using, and since the company relies heavily on software to take good pictures, it has the exact same feature set. The only thing missing is the 2x zoom lens that's found on the Pixel 4. It supports things like astrophotography, Super Res Zoom, and more.

The device comes with a Snapdragon 730G processor and 6GB RAM. If you want something that's a bit beefier, there is a Pixel 4a 5G coming later on this year, and that one will likely include the Snapdragon 765 chipset, although it will also be pricier at $499.

It comes in any color you want, as long as it's Just Black, and the only storage configuration is 128GB. This is also the first Pixel phone that doesn't have a corresponding XL model. But it sure feels good to use, fitting nicely in my hand and bringing back the fingerprint reader, making it easy to use with a mask on. Check out the unboxing video below:
