HP announces a new 15.6-inch Spectre x360 and EliteBook x360 for CES

HP made a number of CES 2017 announcements today, including a pair of new convertible laptops, a 15.6-inch model of the Spectre x360 and the EliteBook x360.

HP Spectre x360

The new Spectre x360 upgrades last year's model to Intel's seventh-generation Kaby Lake processors, but it also comes with a 4K UHD display, which is a big improvement compared to last year's 1080p display. That display is powered by an Nvidia GeForce 940MX GPU.

There are also two new Bang & Olufsen front-facing speakers, along with a Windows Hello camera for password-free biometric authentication. According to the company, the device will get up to 12 hours and 45 minutes of battery life.

The new 15.6-inch model of the Spectre x360 is available to pre-order today from Best Buy starting at $1,499, and it will begin shipping on January 15. HP.com will also begin selling it on February 26, starting at $1,279.

HP says that the EliteBook x360 "combines HP Spectre’s powerful thin and light design, HP EliteBook Folio’s collaboration capabilities and HP Elite enterprise security and durability with Windows 10 Pro." Like the new Spectre, it includes a 4K UHD display, but this one is 13.3 inches.

Battery life is quoted at up to a whopping 16 hours and 30 minutes and unlike the current-generation Spectre models, it comes with pen support. Naturally, there's a Windows Hello camera as well.

The EliteBook x360 will be available by the end of the month in the US.

We reviewed the 13.3-inch model of the Spectre x360 last month, and were really impressed with it. You can check that out right here.
