The Honor 8 will be updated to Android 7.0 in the US on February 11

Several months after its release, Google's latest Android version has yet to only land on 1.2% of devices. Luckily, the Honor 8 will be getting some sweet Nougat in its life thanks to an update that will arrive on February 11.

While it was previously known that Android 7.0 Nougat would be available on the Honor 8, there was never a firm date until today. The update will bring with it EMUI 5.0, that offers improvements over the previous iteration of EMUI, but most importantly comes pre-loaded with a stock app drawer.

The Honor 8 was one of the more impressive handsets from 2016, so it's good to see the firm making an effort to keep the handset up to date. While it isn't Google's latest Android 7.1, Android 7.0 brings a number of welcome improvements like Doze on the Go and multi-window support.
