Bastion developer's new game is Hades, now available on Epic Games Store

Supergiant Games, the developers behind the acclaimed Bastion, Transistor, and Pyre games, had a brand new game announcement during The Game Awards today - Hades. The new announcement trailer - with the studio's usual catchy music - can be seen above.

The game has had a surprise release on the new Epic Games Store as well, available right now to purchase as the studio's first-ever early access title.

It is a rogue-like dungeon crawler steeped in Greek mythology. Players will be combining various powers of gods with their own to have different moves and abilities every time they go through a run. The studio will be releasing new "features, events, characters, weapons, powers, environments, and more" during the early access period with major content updates planned to drop "on a regular basis."

While the game is exclusive to the Epic Game Store for now, Supergiant says to expect the title to be available "on a variety of platforms" once it launches in full. Hades can be purchased right now for $19.99.
