DICE takes Battlefield V to the Pacific Theater with Chapter 5 this fall

Battlefield V's upcoming content was shown off by DICE during today's EA Play livestream, putting a spotlight on the maps and other content coming to the WWII shooter in the coming months. Catch the full livestream above, which begins at the 28:37 mark.

The currently ongoing Chapter 3 will come to an end later this month, with Chapter 4: Defying the Odds, taking the reigns on June 27. On that date arrives the new largescale North African desert-set Al Sudan map. This is followed by the infantry-focused Marita map sometime in July. Two new close-quarter maps were also confirmed to be coming with Chapter 4, although no release windows were shared.

In the gap between Chapter 4 and 5, DICE is planning to bring back an old Battlefield classic, that being Metro. Now titled Operation Underground, this extremely infantry-focused map will land in October and players fighting "through urban streets, courtyards, the plaza area, service tunnels, train platforms, and more."

Now moving on to Chapter 5 content, Battlefield V is bringing players to the Pacific Theater in fall 2019, with the U.S. and Japanese armies joining the game. Not many details were shared about this chapter, but DICE says to expect new maps including Iwo Jima, as well as amphibious crafts, and more.

Of course, all this content will be free to all owners of Battlefield V without needing any kind of season pass or expansions. The game also joined the Origin Access Basic program on PC just yesterday, and Xbox One EA Access subscribers can now find it in their vault as well. The upcoming PlayStation 4 version of EA Access will also gain Battlefield V at launch.
