Horizon Forbidden West gameplay will be shown at the next State of Play

Horizon Forbidden West Aloy

Nearly a year ago, Sony announced Horizon Forbidden West, a sequel to the action RPG Horizon Zero Dawn from 2017. While the announcement only carried a cinematic trailer giving glimpses at what's next for Aloy in her journey to parts of America, series developer Guerrilla Games will soon show off the sequel's gameplay for the first time.

Sony's next State of Play broadcast is set for May 27, and it has a 20-minute segment prepared just for Horizon Forbidden West, from which 14 minutes will be in-game footage from the upcoming adventure.

"This reveal has been a true team effort and we’re very excited to show you what we have in store," Guerilla Games game director Mathijs de Jonge says. "Whether you’ve been with us and Aloy since Horizon Zero Dawn or are only just getting to know this incredible world, we want to share this huge milestone with you and cannot wait to see your favorite moments and reactions."

On May 27 a special State of Play pre-show will begin at 9AM PDT / 5PM BST / 6PM CEST followed by the main event at 2PM PDT / 10PM BST / 11PM CEST. The broadcast can be caught on both YouTube and Twitch channels of PlayStation.

Horizon Forbidden West has a 2021 launch window attached to it and is headed for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The series also debuted on PC last year, with Horizon Zero Dawn launching on the platform.
