Huawei Mate 10 specifications leaked a week before launch

In less than a week, Huawei will be launching its next-generation flagship, the Mate 10. The company claims it will be a more powerful device than Apple's iPhone, and expects it to enable the company to more forcefully compete with the Cupertino giant.

Leaked images from China today shed a little more light on the specifications of the device, and served to confirm and dispel some prior assumptions regarding its internals. True to the company's official announcement, the Mate 10 will indeed feature a gargantuan 4,000 mAh battery and, as per earlier indications, it will be powered by a Kirin 970 SoC developed in-house.

The leaks also mention the dual camera setup prophesied by earlier predictions, with a 20MP main sensor working in conjunction with a 23MP monochrome sensor to provide the 'better photographing capability" the company promised.

Contrary to prior assumptions, however, the device will not feature a bezel-less display, as this feature may be exclusive to its larger sibling, the Mate 10 Pro. The display on the device will be a 6.2-inch stunner with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 and an aspect ratio of 18:9. While not entirely bezel-less, the front of the device will be dominated by the display and will sport significantly less excess space than its predecessor.

Of course, leaks of any sort should be taken with a grain of salt, so we will have to wait until Huawei's event slated for this coming Monday in Germany to find out the finalised specifications of the device.
