Bethesda is giving away Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics to Fallout 76 players

Bethesda is celebrating the holidays by having a giveaway of its own, but sadly only Fallout 76 players are eligible. The company announced today that everyone who played the full version of Fallout 76 in 2018 will receive the classics that began everything - Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics - for free.

This Fallout Classic Collection is only available on PC, but the promotion isn't limited to PC players. So those on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 who played Fallout 76 this year can also dust off a computer they have laying around to try out these RPGs from the 90s and early 2000s. They may need some tinkering on modern systems for a smooth experience, however.

Curiously, those who pre-ordered Fallout 76 on PC via the Bethesda.net launcher had also received the same free gift as a bonus.

The Classic Collection will be going out to applicable Fallout 76 players in early January, and it will probably use the Bethesda.net Launcher for doing so. Although this is unlikely to direct new players to the poorly received multiplayer Fallout title, at least its current owners will have some good RPGs to spend their time in next year.
