Fans of the original Injustice may remember the integral role Joker played in the game's campaign, with him being the primary cause of Superman's rampage in the Injustice universe. The newest hero introduced for Injustice 2 seems to be the very same Joker, and his new trailer is seen above.
The trailer description sheds some light on how he continues to be a nuisance long after his death:
Though killed by Superman, the Joker continues to haunt the lives of all those touched by his madness. By destroying Metropolis, he set the events in motion which made enemies of Superman and Batman. If he were alive to see the chaos he’d created, he would surely be smiling.
Barring being an actual ghost, the new Joker could be a copycat, or maybe a byproduct of Scarecrow's fear gas, who was also confirmed to be in the game in a previous trailer.
In any case, this Joker certainly fights in his usual, unhinged fashion, using a variety of 'toy' gadgets from his repertoire such as electric hand buzzers, prank pistols as well as canisters of Joker Venom. Lastly, as showcased in the trailer, his super move involves putting his opponent in an electric chair.
Fighting game fans can pick up Injustice 2 on May 16, when it arrives on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
