New Sea of Thieves gameplay and launch window announced at E3, arrives in early 2018

Initially announced at last year's E3, Sea of Thieves made another appearance at the Microsoft event this year with a brand new gameplay trailer, and finally revealed the game's release window, arriving in early 2018. The trailer, seen above, showcased some of the core gameplay players will be experiencing with some added humor.

The gameplay began with some underwater plundering, with some sharks added in for good measure, before heading to an island searching for a hidden treasure. There were some fun moments such as a crew member reaching the island by using a cannon to shoot himself over the distance.

Following clues, the pirate crew then entered a cave complex and managed to dig up the legendary treasure buried inside, however not before a large amount of skeletons rose from the ground. Once the crew made it back to the ship, the gameplay also showed off some player vs player action.

Sea of Thieves will be available in 4K Ultra HD on the Xbox One X, with the game also releasing on the Xbox One and PC in 2018.
