Lindsay Lohan sues Rockstar Games over GTA V

Grand Theft Auto V was the most expensive video game in history, with a budget of $267 million, but with revenues of $800m in its first 24 hours of sales alone, its creators will no doubt consider that to be money well spent. With sales of the game continuing on the Xbox 360 and PS3, and soon extending to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, its makers will be raking in the cash for some time to come.

Lindsay Lohan; and Lacey Jonas in GTA V - but which one is which...?

But actress Lindsay Lohan wants a piece of that pie, alleging that Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive Software Inc., created a character in GTA V which used her likeness without her permission. In a lawsuit filed today in New York, her lawyers said that the character of 'Lacey Jonas' in the game was an "unequivocal" reference to Lohan.

As BGR reports, the suit lawsuit alleges that "the portraits of the Plaintiff incorporated her image, likeness, clothing, outfits, Plaintiff's clothing line products, ensemble in the form of hats, hair style, sunglasses, jean shorts worn by the Plaintiff that were for sale to the public at least two years".

The game's creators have not yet commented on the lawsuit.
