Nokia Lumia 2520 to land in Australia nearly 8 months after launch and almost $300 dearer

Australia is set to be the latest market for the launch of the Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet which was first introduced at last year's Nokia World event.

Nokia launched the Windows RT 8.1 based Lumia 2520 tablet at Nokia World 2013 along with the Lumia 1320 and 1520 smartphones. Although the tablet was launched at a global event, Nokia had planned to rollout the product in select markets after evaluating the response. Countries such as India and Malaysia which are traditionally Nokia's strong markets were not considered for the launch of the tablet. Now, Nokia is set to make the tablet available in Australia after a few hiccups in Europe.

The pricing for the Nokia Lumia 2520 in Australia is also quite a bit more expensive, as the tablet is set to cost $840 AUD (equivalent to $780 USD) In the U.S. it costs $499. Australian carrier Telstra will be exclusively selling the Nokia tablet and has a set of accompanying data plans starting from $35 for interested customers.

Hardware specifications of the Lumia 2520 include 10.1” full 1080p HD AH-IPS screen with Gorilla Glass 2, 6.7MP Auto Focus ZEISS optics primary camera, 2MP HD wide-angle secondary camera, 4G LTE, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (2.2GHz Quad Core) processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a 8000 mAh (integrated) battery.
