Weekend PC Game Deals: Bethesda and Stardock bundles, plus more

Weekend PC Game Deals is where the hottest gaming deals are amassed into an easy to follow format, every week, from all over the internet. So kick back, relax, and hold on to your wallets.

Humble Monthly Bundle is back with some brand new early unlock games in tow, replacing last month's Rise of the Tomb Raider. The routine is quite a bit different this month, with the bundle offering three games and some extras as early unlocks, albeit one of the games is free-to-play, and another will be free-to-play once it launches out of early access.

Up first is a Steam copy of Bethesda's MMO, The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. The game arrives with a 15-day ESO Plus pass that grants you access to all DLC, as well as a Bristlegut Pig pet, and 750 Crowns, the game's premium currency. Keep in mind that the ESO Plus pass does not give access to the Morrowind expansion that launched in June earlier this year.

Next you get Steam Early Access arena shooter, Quake Champions, however, this does not come with the Champions Pack that gives you all the champions in the game. Instead, the bundle will grant you the Ranger and B.J. Blazkowicz characters, as well as 50 Shards, 100 Platinum, and 2000 Favor.

The extra in-game currencies aren't enough to buy new champions outright, but should help you in collecting enough for renting and purchasing new ones later on. The game arrives as a Steam key, and is slated to go free-to-play later this year.

Finally, we come to The Elder Scrolls: Legends, the free-to-play collectible card game. You get two Skyrim card packs, one event ticket, 100 Gold, and 100 Soul Gems when purchasing this bundle. If you're unfamiliar with the game, Neowin's Muhammad Jarir Kanji wrote an extensive review of the game, giving it an 8.5 verdict, which can be read here.

The bundle will unlock the rest of its games and be replaced on November 4, giving you almost an entire month to make a decision on purchasing it.

Humble is back with a bundle that should make strategy fans excited, featuring games from economic, 4X, RTS, and turn-based RPG genres. The Humble Stardock Bundle offers 10 games in total, that are split into three tiers that you can opt to buy.

Starting off, the $1 tier gets you Sorcerer King: Rivals, Fallen Enchantress, The Political Machine 2016, and The Corporate Machine.

Next, we have the 'beat the average' tier, coming in at over $9, adding on Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion, Galactic Civilizations III, and the Fallen Enchantress Ultimate Edition, which includes all the DLC that arrived for the game.

Lastly, if you go for the $15 tier, you get Offworld Trading Company, Galactic Civilizations III: Crusade expansion pack, and Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation, as well as all the previous tiers. The latter also arrives with the Gauntlet, Overlord Scenario Pack, and Turtle Wars DLC.

The bundle will come to a close on October 17, so you still have some time to ponder if all these strategy games are worth your while.

Free Events

The one and only free event this weekend seems to be Star Wars Battlefront II's open beta, which opened up for all players to enjoy yesterday. The beta includes four game modes for players to try out, the ground battle-based Starfighter Assault, and Strike modes, as well as Galactic Assault for space battles, and lastly, Arcade, for those wanting action against AI opponents.

The open beta will last until October 9, 4pm UTC, with participants receiving a special 'Founder's Crate' filled with in-game goodies that will carry onto the full game. You can download the beta via EA's Origin app, with it available to claim in the Demos and Betas section.

Big Deals

With the beginning of the weekend comes a wide assortment of sales from numerous PC game stores, and below, we have a selection of handpicked games that are near or below their historical discount rates.

DRM-free Goodness

Now, with all those pesky DRM-filled games out of the way, let's take look at some DRM-free deals. The GOG store is hosting a giant Disney sale this week, featuring a host of classic Star Wars titles and more. Star Wars Battlefront II (2005) is especially a good deal, considering the game's multiplayer was brought back to life by GOG earlier this week. You can find highlights from the sale below.

Do keep in mind that pricing and availability for some deals may vary depending on the region you're in.

And that is it for our pick of this weekend's PC game deals folks, and hopefully, some of you have enough self-restraint to not break the bank adding new games to your ever-growing backlogs. Of course, there is a gargantuan amount of other deals available all over the interwebs if you search hard enough, so keep your eyes open for those as well.
